Collaboration, Curation, and Storytelling in Southeast Asian Film
The Southeast Asian film landscape has evolved through a network of collaborations among filmmakers, curators, and cultural institutions that operate beyond national and linguistic borders. In this ecosystem, storytelling becomes not only a means of artistic expression but also a negotiation of identity, history, and collective memory. As digital platforms, film festivals, and regional initiatives continue to expand, new opportunities arise for dialogue, co-production, and alternative modes of exhibition. However, these developments also raise questions about sustainability, ethics of representation, and access to resources. This public lecture aims to explore how collaboration and curation can strengthen creative practices and regional solidarity in Southeast Asian cinema.
