Hanoman Awards
Hanoman Awards is a feature-length competitive program for established directors and upcoming young talent who hold the future of Asian cinema. The first winner will be awarded a Golden Hanoman and runner-up will be awarded a Silver Hanoman.
NETPAC Award
NETPAC Award aims to read the diverse Asian perspectives from the first or second work of directors who hold the future of Asian cinema.
Blencong Award
This is an in-competition program for Asian short films that will be eligible to compete for Blencong Awards for the best Asian shorts.
Indonesian Screen Awards
This is a feature-length competitive program of the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival for established filmmakers and upcoming young talent who hold the future of Indonesian cinema. This section will have 6 awards; Best Film, Best Director, Best Storytelling, Best Cinematography, Best Performance and Best Editing
GEBER Award
GEBER AWARD is given to the best Asian film from the first or second work of directors who hold the future of Asian cinema, chosen by the representatives of film communities around Indonesia. This award is a form of a statement by the Indonesian film community to show their perspectives regarding marginalized and/or controversial issues.
Student Award
STUDENT AWARD is given to the best Asian shorts in the Light of Asia program. The winner is chosen by the representatives of film students in Yogyakarta.
JAFF AWARDS
Life Achievement Award
In 50 years, Christine Hakim has rounded her career in Indonesian cinema as actress, producer and activist. Starting out as an active member of Teater Populer, she has since starred in numerous outstanding films such as Badai Pasti Berlalu (1977), Tjoet Nja’ Dhien (1988), Daun di Atas Bantal (1998), Eat Pray Love (2010), Impetigore (2019), Sara (2023). In addition, Christine Hakim plays an active role behind the camera when she stepped up as a film producer during a time when the Indonesian film industry was experiencing a crisis in the late 1990s. Since its beginning, she has wholeheartedly supported Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF). Furthermore, she also mentors Indonesia film actors, and gives lectures at various film educational events. Her star aura is particularly luminescent in illuminating the way for the advancement of Indonesian cinema.
JAFF Honorary Award
As a Jakarta-based cinematographer, Teoh Gay Hian has made significant contributions in shaping the Indonesian cinematography through some award-winning films such as Opera Jawa (2006), Memories of My Body (2018), The Science of Fictions (2019), Yuni (2021), and 24 Hours with Gaspar (2023). Taking local cultural references, Teoh Gay Hian has effortlessly produced a strong, natural, and intimate visual style. Moreover, he enthusiastically supports the emerging Indonesian film directors in realising their ambitious projects. He also takes part in film educational programmes, particularly for Indonesian cinematographers. Beyond his nationality, Teoh Gay Hian has illuminated the visual identity of Indonesian cinema with his cultural sensitivities rooted in the local context making him as an essential part of the development of Indonesian cinema.
