Synopsis
Sinopsis
From the delicate chimes of the Jungga, a traditional musical instrument from Sumba, we are guided into a story of transformation in a land rich with cultural heritage. Through the figures of Ata Ratu, Rambu Ester, Pura Tanya, and Haing—the remaining Jungga players—this film captures the clash between old and new values in the everyday lives of the Sumbanese people.
But more than just the story of an almost-forgotten instrument, this film explores how cultural heritage is challenged by time, preserved by some, and gradually abandoned by the younger generation.
Through portraits of individuals across generations, beliefs, and geographical settings—both those who still uphold ancestral traditions and those living modern urban lives—the film reveals the social, religious, and cultural diversity of contemporary Sumba.
It documents the Sumbanese people’s efforts to preserve their roots while stepping into the future

Biografi Sutradara
Titi Radjo Padmaja
Titi Radjo Padmaja is an award-winning Indonesian composer, drummer, singer, songwriter, and actress, born in Jakarta in 1981. She earned her Bachelor of Music from Institut Musik Daya Indonesia in 2006, majoring in drums with a minor in piano. Titi started her career as a professional drummer, notably performing for eight consecutive years at the Java Jazz Music Festival.
Her acting breakthrough came with "Mereka Bilang, Saya Monyet!", winning the Citra Award for Best Actress at the 2009 Indonesian Film Festival (FFI). The same year, her musical talents were recognized when she won Best Music Director at FFI for the film "King". She was nominated again as Best Actress at FFI 2010 for "Minggu Pagi di Victoria Park", and at ASEAN International Film Festival 2013 for "Rayya, Cahaya Diatas Cahaya".
As a music director, Titi received accolades for films like "Laskar Pelangi", "Sang Pemimpi", "Rindu Purnama", and "Tanah Air Beta". She also performed in Garin Nugroho’s theater production, "Opera Jawa". Recently, she directed, produced, and composed music for the feature-length documentary "Swaradwipa". Titi continues to actively produce and release music.
