Synopsis
Sinopsis
Ahmad is a taxi driver in Jakarta. Addicted to the sex he sees in magazines and videos, he can only experience it alone in front of his television or secretly in his taxi. His lonely nights are filled with crude talk from other drivers who mock prostitutes and complain about their wives. By day, he visits the mosque, learning about purity and faith. Hope appears when he falls in love with his neighbor, a prostitute named Kinar, but her pimp stops them. Torn between lust and faith, Ahmad longs for redemption.

Teddy Soeria Atmadja
Teddy Soeria Atmadja began his career in 2001 with the independent film Culik. Since then, he has directed a series of acclaimed works, including Banyu Biru, Ruang, Badai Pasti Berlalu, Lovely Man, Something in the Way, About a Woman, Affliction, Berbalas Kejam, and The Architecture of Love. His films have garnered numerous awards and been screened at prestigious international film festivals. In 2012, he was nominated for Best Director at the Asian Film Awards for Lovely Man. Known for his elegant storytelling and refined cinematic style, Teddy has become one of Indonesia’s most distinctive and influential filmmakers.
