A girl journeys through Indonesia’s majestic landscapes and industrial wounds — sunken houses, poisoned rivers, forgotten fields. Guided by a voice of poetry, she moves between memory and loss, tracing the echoes of land, women, and ancestry. Through fragments of destruction and quiet resilience, the film becomes a meditation on return — not to a home, but to an origin we’ve abandoned.

Kathleen Malay
Kathleen Malay is a Jakarta-based filmmaker and musician recognized for her experimental storytelling, blending cultural commentary with striking visuals. She directed the premiere episode of NOWNESS Asia's Supperclub and innovative music videos for Gabber Modus Operandi, Melati ESP, and The Brandals. Her creative work spans from fashion film Rasuk Budaya exploring Indonesian pop culture, to After the Flags, an environmentally conscious narrative examining human-nature harmony. As a former VICE Indonesia reporter, she contributed to documentaries including "Inside Indonesia's Notorious Debt Collecting Industry" and "Pride and Prejudice: LGBTQ Rights In Asia's Newest Nation."
