Synopsis
Sinopsis

Kikuo, born into a yakuza clan, possesses extraordinary beauty. The death of his father brings him under the arm of the famous Kabuki actor Hanjiro Hanai. There, he meets Shunsuke, born and raised as the only son of a prestigious Kabuki family. The two men with completely different backgrounds and talents, inheriting opposing family blood from the Kabuki and the Yakuza, decide to devote their lives to the refinement of Kabuki throughout the 50 years of history, the rise and fall of fame, bloodlines, and talents, scandals and glories, and layers of trust and betrayal.

Sang-il Lee

Born in 1974, Lee started his filmmaking career at the Japan Film School. His Japanese language remake of Clint Eastwood’s Unforgiven premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2013. Other titles of his include Hula Girls, Rage, and Wandering.
