Synopsis
Sinopsis
Lia, a young woman from Buton, rediscovers the manuscripts Kabanti— an oral art inherited from his grandmother, Wa Mia, who was once known as a singer Kabanti. The tradition was nearly extinct, especially since his mother was reluctant to continue it. With the guidance of traditional figures and the support of her friends, Lia tries to understand the deep meaning behind each verse of Kabanti that is full of Islamic teachings and life values. She learned to recite it with feeling and a sense of responsibility for his ancestral heritage. At the peak, Lia performed Kabanti at a campus exhibition. Her melodious voice revived a long-forgotten tradition and touched the hearts of many, becoming a symbol of the revival of Butonese culture in the hands of the younger generation.

Andhy Loppes Eba
Kadir (Andhy Loppes Eba) is a director, screenwriter, and journalist from Baubau who has been active in the film industry since 2011. He began his career as a broadcaster and reporter before joining MNC Media, where he developed a strong portfolio of documentaries and short films exploring social, cultural, and humanitarian themes. His notable works include Sang Penambang Pasir (2015), Tulatulana Bentena Wolio (2015), Pelangi di Kampung Bajau (2019), Kawin Lari (2022), Stunting (2022), Bullying (2023), Pekandeana Ana-ana Maelu (2023), Pindokoa (2024, Layar Anak Indonesia), Cahaya untuk Nur (2024), and Kabanti Bula Malino (2024). Kadir won the 1st Prize at the 2022 National PKK Short Film Competition for Stunting and the 2023 Islamic Short Film Competition for his documentary Pekandeana Ana-ana Maelu. In 2024, he received the 1st Prize in the Fiction category at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Islamic Short Film Competition for Cahaya untuk Nur. Beyond his filmmaking achievements, he is also active as a film training mentor and a digital literacy speaker across various regions in Sulawesi.
