Hanoman Award
Hanoman Award is a feature-length competitive program for established directors and upcoming young talent who hold the future of Asian cinema. The first winner will be awarded a Golden Hanoman and runner-up will be awarded a Silver Hanoman.
Eric Khoo
Eric Khoo helms Zhao Wei Films and is credited with reviving Singapore's film industry with his debut feature "Mee Pok Man" in 1995. His films have been invited to Toronto, Busan, Berlin, Telluride, Venice, and Cannes. While "12 Storeys" premiered in the 1997 Cannes Official Selection, “Be With Me" opened the Directors' Fortnight in 2005. His fourth feature, "My Magic," earned a nomination for the Palme d'Or in 2008. "Tatsumi", his first animated feature, opened at Cannes’ 64th edition. Khoo was the show-runner for HBO's "Folklore (1st & 2nd season)", "Food Lore", “Food Affair with Mark Wiens”, and CJ Entertainment’s "Hungry Souls". Khoo directed “Spirit World,” which was the closing film for Busan 2024. Khoo has served as Jury head at Locarno, Rotterdam, Bucheon, and the Asian Film Awards, and was on the jury for the official Cannes short film competition.
Suryana Paramita
Suryana Paramita is an Indonesian film producer recognized for her dedication to telling powerful stories with a fresh cinematic vision. She has produced titles that have screened at international festivals and gained wide acclaim. Her notable works include “Jatuh Cinta Seperti di Film-Film” (2023), a heartfelt romantic drama praised for its intimate storytelling, and “1 Kakak 7 Ponakan” (2024), a family drama that became a domestic box-office success.
In 2025, Suryana produced “SORE: A Wife from the Future (SORE: Istri dari Masa Depan)”, which drew millions of viewers in Indonesia and was selected to represent Indonesia in the International Feature Film category at the Oscars. With a background in storytelling and extensive experience in the creative industry, she remains committed to bringing Indonesian stories to the global stage.
Beyond her writing and producing work, Gina S. Noer has also directed four feature films, demonstrating her talent for storytelling and visual expression. Her films, including "Dua Garis Biru, "Cinta Pertama, Kedua & Ketiga”, "Like & Share”, and "Dua Hati Biru”, have garnered widespread acclaim and numerous awards. Notably, "Like & Share" won the Grand Prix at the Osaka Asian Film Festival 2023.
Tumpal Tampubolon
Tumpal Tampubolon is an Indonesian screenwriter and director, and a graduate of the Bandung Institute of Technology with a degree in Mathematics. He received the 2014 Citra Award for Best Original Screenplay for Tabula Rasa. His short Laut Memanggilku won the Sonje Award at Busan and a Citra Award in 2021. His feature debut, Crocodile Tears, premiered at TIFF 2024 and was screened at festivals worldwide. He claims mathematics helps his storytelling, though his cat and dog remain unconvinced.

NETPAC Award aims to read the diverse Asian perspectives from the first or second work of directors who hold the future of Asian cinema.
Bunga Siagian
Bunga Siagian is an artist, researcher, and film curator with a master’s degree in Cultural Studies. Her work explores internationalism and the political-cinematic commitments of leftist movements during the era of decolonization. Through her artistic practice, she often works within institutions, such as Mother Bank and the Land Research Agency (Badan Kajian Pertanahan, BKP) — artistic research initiatives that engage with issues of land. Her practice sits at the intersection of art, community, and the enduring legacies of colonialism.
Herman Van Eyken
Professor Herman Van Eyken graduated with a Master's Degree in Audio Visual Arts from the RITS national film school in Brussels. He studied film in Italy under Prof. Mario Verdone and Prof. Umberto Eco after receiving an Italian fellowship. For over 40 years, he directed over 200 films, including commercials, documentaries, and feature films, earning acclaim and awards at international festivals. In 1990, he returned to RITS as a professor in Film Directing, pursuing his career as a film educator which led him to establish Singapore's first film degree program at LASALLE. He served as a jury member at major International Film Festivals such as Locarno, Busan and Venice 2001, served as Director of the Griffith Film School in Brisbane, Australia for over 14 years and chaired at the CILECT Asia Pacific Association for 8 years, leaving a mark on European and Asia Pacific cinema as a film academic, writer, producer, and director.
Marissa Anita
Marissa Anita is an acclaimed Indonesian actress, broadcast journalist and podcaster recognized for her work across film, television and YouTube.
Her filmmaking credentials are highlighted by numerous prestigious accolades, including winning the Citra Award (Indonesian Film Festival) for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens.
Her diverse and critically praised filmography includes roles in celebrated Indonesian features such as Joko Anwar's Impetigore, Tumpal Tampubolon’s Crocodile Tears, Yosep Anggi Noen’s Solo Solitude, Kamila Andini’s Yuni, and Lucky Kuswandi’s In the Absence of the Sun.
Her deep immersion in powerful, story-driven cinema makes her an invaluable addition to the festival jury at JAFF this year. She is deeply excited to be part of the JAFF family this year.
Blencong Award
This is an in-competition program for Asian short films that will be eligible to compete for Blencong Awards for the best Asian shorts.
Henry Foundation
Henry Foundation is a Jakarta-born musician and visual artist whose work blends music, visuals, and the urban environment into a distinctive pop culture and subcultural expression. As a founding member of Goodnight Electric, he has released several acclaimed albums and singles that helped define the Indonesian electronic-pop landscape.
Beyond his role in the band, Henry runs HFMF Records—a hybrid brand and independent label that reflects his DIY spirit—and curates Mayhem Extended, an underground Jakarta indie disco party that has been held sporadically since 2002, often in playful and unpredictable ways.
His creativity also extends into visual storytelling. As one half of the directing duo The Jadugar (with Anggun Priambodo), Henry has directed numerous music videos, further cementing his position at the intersection of sound, image, and culture.
Khozy Rizal
Khozy Rizal is an Indonesian filmmaker who started making films in 2021 with a short film “Makassar is a City for Football Fans” and screened at Sundance, BFI Flare and several film festivals. In 2023, he made a short film titled “Basri & Salma in a Never-ending Comedy '' which had its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival and was the first Indonesian short film that competed for the Short Film Palme d’Or. The short film was screened for more than 100 festivals including Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand and AFI Fest. In 2024, he made another short film “Little Rebels Cinema Club” that had its International premiere at the Generation Kplus - Berlin International Film Festival 2025 where it won the Crystal Bear for the Best Short Film. He’s also an alumnus of Busan Asian Film Academy, Locarno Filmmakers Academy and Berlinale Talents.
Mary Pansanga
Mary Pansanga is an independent curator working across contemporary art and artists’ moving image contexts. Her interests lie in exploring the curatorial landscape of spatial perception. She has organized exhibitions, screenings, and related projects in art spaces, film festivals, and other potential platforms. Her curatorial projects include In Transit (2013) at the Art Center, Chulalongkorn University; Multiple Planes (2018) as part of PhotoBangkok at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre; In Situ from Outside: Reconfiguring the Past in between the Present (2019) at National Museum Bangkok; Orbiting body (2024) at Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and the 7th Bangkok Experimental Film Festival (2025). In late 2020, she co-founded an ongoing project, ‘expensive to be poor’, and has been a programme director for STORAGE, an independent art space in Bangkok, since 2023.
Indonesian Screen Awards
This is a feature-length competitive program of the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival for established filmmakers and upcoming young talent who hold the future of Indonesian cinema. This section will have 5 awards; Best Film, Best Director, Best Storytelling, Best Cinematography, and Best Performance.
Amir Muhammad
Amir Muhammad is a Malaysian who produces movies and books. Two of his documentaries, LELAKI KOMUNIS TERAKHIR (2006) and APA KHABAR ORANG KAMPUNG (2007), are banned in Malaysia. His company, Kuman Pictures, has produced several features and documentaries since 2019, including ROH (2019), which was Malaysia's submission to the Oscars, as well as PENDATANG (2023), the first Malaysian feature film to be entirely crowdfunded. He is also the founder of Buku Fixi, which has published over 300 books since 2011, with an emphasis on urban pulp fiction. He has fond memories of attending the first-ever JAFF in 2006, at a time when some of you were embryos.
Antoinette Jadaone
Antoinette Jadaone is one of the leading voices in contemporary Philippine cinema. Her latest feature, Sunshine, won the Crystal Bear at Berlinale Generation 2025. Jadaone’s films, celebrated for their emotional depth and cultural resonance, have found both box-office success and critical acclaim. Beyond directing, she co-founded Project 8 Projects, a boutique production house nurturing bold, new filmmakers and storytellers.
Puiyee Leong
Leong Puiyee is an arts manager and film programmer based in Singapore. She has managed numerous multimedia projects and film programmes throughout her career, including serving as the head of short films at the Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival (2024) and as a pre-selection jury member for the Asia Project Market at the Busan International Film Festival (2023 - 2025). She is currently the Programme Head (Film) at Objectifs, where she manages the film-related programmes.
Geber Award
GEBER Award is given to the best Asian film from the first or second work of directors who hold the future of Asian cinema, chosen by the representatives of film communities around Indonesia. This award is a form of a statement by the Indonesian film community to show their perspectives regarding marginalized and/or controversial issues.

Iam Murda
Muhammad Ilham Mustain Murda, better known as Iam Murda, produces, directs, and writes screenplays in Jayapura, Papua. He also works as a performer, curator, and educator, actively connecting art, education, and society. In 2016, he founded the Indonesia Art Movement (IAM), a collective that empowers artists across generations in Papua to create film, dance, visual art, music, and interdisciplinary projects. Through IAM, he strengthens a community-based creative ecosystem rooted in collaboration, cultural research, and sustainability.
Iam Murda teaches at the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Culture (ISBI) Tanah Papua, focusing on dance criticism, arts management, audio-visual practices, and the development of curricula that emphasize local contexts. His work and ideas are guided by a mission to promote recognition, understanding, and appreciation of Papuan art in both national and global arenas.
Siska Raharja
Siska is an alumna of the Faculty of Media Arts at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta and a co-founder of Kamisinema. She is also the founder and producer at Elora Films, where she has produced numerous short films, including Lost Wonders (dir. Loeloe Hendra), Bunga dan Tembok (dir. Eden Junjung, 2016), BURA (dir. Eden Junjung), and Laila (dir. Wucha Wulan Dari).
Siska currently serves as the Director of the Kotabaru Heritage Film Festival. She is an alumna of SEAFIC, Torino Film Lab, and was one of five Asian producers selected for Ties That Bind in 2019.
Student Award
STUDENT AWARD is given to the best Asian shorts in the Light of Asia program. The winner is chosen by the representatives of film students in Yogyakarta.
Andrienne Adelia
Andrienne Adelia is a film student at MMTC Yogyakarta, class of 2024. She has written and directed several short films, including The River, which explores themes of human character and emotion. As the Chair of the MMTC Film Forum, she actively nurtures collaboration within the student film community. Andrienne’s work focuses on themes of identity and emotional dynamics, aiming to create meaningful films that resonate deeply with audiences.
Dimas Putro Utomo
Dimas Putro Utomo is an undergraduate majoring in Film and Television at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta. He is passionate about storytelling and audiovisual methods, and has taken on key roles as a writer and producer in multiple short film productions.
Dimas is active in the Film and Television Student Organization, contributing to the Creative Media and Information division and serving as a Programmer at Kamisinema. Outside academics, he engages in film events and festivals, including the Sewon Screening 11 Festival, where he served as the Main Screen Programmer and contributed to other major festival programs.
Fada Ramadhan Dhiya
Fada Ramadhan Dhiya (b. Sleman, Yogyakarta, October 31, 2004) is a Communication Studies student at Muhammadiyah University, Yogyakarta. He is an active member of the MM Kine Club UMY Film Club, where he serves as Head of the Production Division. With a focus on cinematography and short film production, Fada believes that film is a powerful medium for expressing values, emotions, and ideas.
He has worked on numerous short films as a cinematographer and camera assistant, including Temaram (2024), Palih Artha (2024), Foso se Boboso (2024), Tabrak Lucy (2024), and Senandung Malam Kelam (2025). His cinematography for Heaven Keepers (2024) received several accolades, including Best Cinematography at Scription UMY 2025, Favorite Film at the Lampung Film Festival 2025, and Best Short Movie at the Socio Frame Competition 2025.
Fada also interned as a lighting crew member for a feature film directed by Christine Hakim and Garin Nugroho. Through his work, he strives to create visuals that are not only aesthetically compelling but also sincere and meaningful in conveying the stories he tells.
Janssen Ewaldo
Janssen Ewaldo is a director, screenwriter, and editor from Pontianak, Indonesia. His short film Awan Awam Bertiup Menutupi Langit Biru was selected for the UI Film Festival 2023 and the Taylor’s University Film Festival 2024. His subsequent movie, 生日 Sang Nyit, was featured at the Hasanuddin Film Festival 2025, the Airlangga Cinema Festival 2025, and the Beijing International Short Film Festival 2025.
Janssen’s work often explores themes of cultural identity and his experiences as a Chinese-Indonesian. He views film as a powerful medium for sharing diverse human perspectives, fostering understanding, and encouraging reflection on life.
Ramadhani Meautia Iffa
Ramadhani Iffa is a final-year Communication Science student majoring in Marketing Communication at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. Her journey in the world of film began when she joined Avikom Film, where she found a space to experiment and tell stories through the screen. From production and distribution to exhibition, Iffa continues to explore how film can serve as a living and impactful medium of expression.
