Diskusi Tema: “Metanoia”

Two Ancient Greek terms, “metá” (meaning “beyond” or “after”) and “noeō” (meaning “perception,” “understanding,” or “thought”), are combined to form the phrase “metanoia.” Therefore, the combination of these two terms can mean different things, including a spiritual awakening, a change of heart, mind, self, or way of life, or a look into the most profound parts of the human brain. ‘Metanoia’ is the subject for this year’s Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF). This subject emphasizes how, in spite of difficult obstacles and intricate circumstances, Asian cinema is constantly evolving towards greatness. Asian cinema will find its true identity with all of its strengths and limits by overcoming those obstacles and circumstances.
