Aku Bukan Ismail

Loeloe Hendra completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Film and Television at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta. He is known for producing numerous short films that have earned recognition both nationally and internationally. One of his short films, Onomastika (2014), which later became the name of his production house in Yogyakarta, was screened and competed at many film festivals, including the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival in Germany and the Short Shorts Film Festival in Tokyo, Japan. The film also won the Citra Award for Best Short Film at the 2014 Indonesian Film Festival.
His first feature film, Tale of the Land, co-produced by Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Qatar, premiered at the 2024 Busan International Film Festival and received several accolades: the FIPRESCI Award; Best Performance at the Q Cinema Film Festival 2024; Special Mention at Cinema At Sea Okinawa Pan-Pacific International Film Festival 2025; Most Original Film Award at the Asian Film Festival, Rome 2025; and Best Asian Debut Director at the 20th International Film Festival Thrissur 2025. The film continues to screen, compete, and receive awards and positive reception at various international festivals.
His second feature film, Sah Katanya! (It’s Official…), produced by MVP Pictures, is slated for commercial theatrical release in 2025. In addition to working as a director and writer, Loeloe also teaches at Jogja Film Academy as a directing lecturer.
