Biografi Sutradara

BW Purbanegara

BW Purbanegara is a filmmaker from Yogyakarta who actively works across a wide range of forms, documentary and fiction, short and feature-length, narrative and experimental. He has won the Citra Award at the Indonesian Film Festival (FFI) twice for Best Short Film: first in 2008 for Cheng-cheng Po, and again in 2011 for Bermula dari A.
In 2016, his screenplay for Ziarah received a Citra Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. The following year, he won Best Screenplay at the ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA) for the same film.
Several of his short films have screened widely at international festivals. Among them are Musafir (Berlin International Film Festival 2009) and Bermula Dari A (Busan International Film Festival; Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival; Best Short Film at Pacific Meridien International Film Festival, Vladivostok 2012; Best Short Film at Hanoi International Film Festival 2012).
His feature films, in addition to Ziarah, include Doremi & You, History of Untellable Tales, and Romantik Problematik.
