Blurring the borders between live session and cinema, Galura Tropikalia Alive transforms the surf-rock music of The Panturas into a hallucinatory journey through West Java. The film follows a young couple whose faltering relationship unfolds through six surreal episodes, each intertwined with live performance. Blending myth, absurdism, and local folklore with vibrant rhythm and tropical intensity, the film becomes a portrait of love, loss, and reconciliation in a fever dream of sound and story.

Kathleen Malay
Kathleen Malay is a Jakarta-based filmmaker and musician recognized for her experimental storytelling, blending cultural commentary with striking visuals. She directed the premiere episode of NOWNESS Asia's Supperclub and innovative music videos for Gabber Modus Operandi, Melati ESP, and The Brandals. Her creative work spans from fashion film Rasuk Budaya exploring Indonesian pop culture, to After the Flags, an environmentally conscious narrative examining human-nature harmony. As a former VICE Indonesia reporter, she contributed to documentaries including "Inside Indonesia's Notorious Debt Collecting Industry" and "Pride and Prejudice: LGBTQ Rights In Asia's Newest Nation."
