Synopsis

Sinopsis

It was only one year after the earthquake in Palu, amidst the hustle and bustle of Palu City’s revitalization, Gana a 14 year old girl, is forced to marry a 40 year old widower to reduce the economic burden on her family. After the disaster, Gana lives with her aunt and uncle in a temporary shelter.

In the days leading up to her wedding, Gana wants to run away but feels conflicted. Whenever she tries to run away, aftershocks come.

Biografi Sutradara

Vania Qanita Damayanti

Vania Qanita Damayanti is a graduate film student at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia in Bandung. She has experience organizing and collaborating on multidisciplinary projects, particularly films and audiovisual projects related to social issues and disaster mitigation. She grew up in Palu, Central Sulawesi where she first began learning about filmmaking in high school. In 2020, she made her directorial debut with a short film available on online platforms. Several of her films have been screened and awarded at national and international festivals. Vania continues to develop her filmmaking practice, focusing particularly on social issues, including disaster response and gender equality.
