Synopsis

Sinopsis

At fourteen, Neptune abruptly leaves her childhood home with her mother, her father mysteriously absent. Twenty years later, she returns, driving from the airport through the countryside and dark, rainy forests, seeking to reconcile with her estranged, ill father. Navigating long-buried emotions and unfamiliar roads, her journey takes an unexpected turn, haunted by ghosts of her past. Amid fear and grief, she comes face-to-face with an unexpected encounter, and a fragile sense of healing begins to take root.

Tamara Sangdow

Tamara Sangdow is a Thai-American director based in New York and Bangkok. She is interested in telling stories about identity, family, love, and mortality. "Echoes of the Night" is her debut short film as a writer, director, and producer.

Tamara's love for moving images began at age 11, through her love of music, photography, art, and film. Since, she worked at Vice and Condé Nast as a Creative Director, for brands like Vogue, GQ, Pitchfork, Them, and The New Yorker. Her focus spans fashion films, music videos, documentaries, commercials, and narrative filmmaking.

In 2022, her work for Pitchfork, The New Yorker, and Them earned a Gold Telly and a Bronze Clio Music Award. She was a finalist for The One Club’s COLORFUL Award in 2022. In 2023, she was invited to Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival to further develop "Echoes of the Night".
