Penyebaran Islam di Tidore
11 minutes | 2024 | Indonesia | Documentary | Indonesian
SYNOPSIS
This documentary traces the arrival of Islam in Tidore, beginning with the indigenous belief system “ge jou se ngofa ngare”. Introduced peacefully by merchants and 8th-century Iraqi scholars, including Sheik Yakub, the faith was organically integrated into local life. The legacy endures through sacred Jere shrines, the Lufu Kie maritime tradition, and regular Islamic calendar observances kept alive across generations.
