PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS FOR DAY SIX OF JAFF 19
On December 5, 2024, the sixth day of the 19th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) promises an array of exciting and engaging events. Here are some of the highlights:
In the Public Lecture program held at LPP Building, JAFF President Budi Irawanto will moderate a discussion featuring renowned directors Hanung Bramantyo and Amanda Nell Eu. The session will explore this year’s JAFF theme, “Metanoia”, which emphasizes the continuous transformation of Asian cinema as it strives for excellence amid significant challenges.
In the Screening Program, the Indonesian animated film Nyla, directed by Sigit Hermawan, will premiere at XXI Empire Studio 2 at 13:00 WIB. Meanwhile, a lineup of short films from the Light of Asia 1 program—such as Anita, Lost in the News by Behzad Nalbandi (Iran), Samu The Terrible and His Sin by Dhiwangkara Seta (Indonesia), The Feast by Rishi Chandna (India), The Memo by Chen Sisi and Yang Xiao (China), Washhh by Mickey Lai (Malaysia/Ireland), and When The Wind Rises by Hung Chen (Taiwan)—will screen at 12:00 WIB in XXI Empire Studio 2.
Additionally, starting at 12:00 WIB, films under the Layar Komunitas category will also be shown at XXI Empire Studio 2. These include A Story from Borneo by Shohipul Ma’aruf (Indonesia), It’s Not Him by Ariq Asyi (Indonesia), and Pak & Me by Haziq Anwar and Jayashreeseelan (Indonesia).
