SCHEDULE UPDATE: Cinematic Concert Kunto Aji X Sal Priadi’s new schedule to start at 8:00 PM

Let’s delve into some of the highlights scheduled for the fourth day of the 19th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF). Tomorrow evening, the cinematic concert program will feature a live performance by Kunto Aji and Sal Priadi at Empire XXI Studio 1, which will be rescheduled to start at 8:00 PM.

Join us for an exciting experience in our screening program featuring the Asian Perspectives Shorts compilation. This collection showcases the rich diversity of Asian viewpoints, presenting works by renowned directors and emerging talents who play vital roles in Asian cinema. You can catch Asian Perspectives Shorts 2 at Empire XXI Studio 3 at 2:45 PM and Asian Perspectives Shorts 3 screened at Empire XXI Studio 3 at 12:15 PM. Also, don’t miss the Jogja Showcase, which highlights the creativity of up-and-coming Jogja-based directors, at Empire XXI Studio 5 at 5:45 PM.

Finally, check out JAFF Market, Indonesia’s first and largest film market. It serves as a hub and marketplace for the Indonesian film industry and stakeholders to connect with the Indonesian film ecosystem. JAFF Market will be held at the Jogja Expo Centre from 3-5 December 2024.

 

Tomorrow’s Lineup: December 4th, 2024

Tomorrow, JAFF 19 non-screening programs will feature diverse activities.

The Production Culture Research Workshop is set to take place at the LPP Building from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This workshop will spotlight speakers Dyna Herlina (scholar) and Tito Imanda (anthropologist and filmmaker). Concurrently, the Public Presentation sessions will kick off with a discussion on “Film Censorship Board: Maximizing Community Potential in Film Production” from 9.00 AM to 10.30 AM, followed by “Swara Prambanan: Relishing the Sunset, Harmonizing Visuals and Sounds” from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, both held at the LPP Building.

At the Artotel Meeting Room Lotus 3, the Public Lecture program will begin with “Tribute to Aruna Vasudev,” featuring notable figures such as Garin Nugroho, Wong Tuck-Cheong, Jajang C. Noer, and Kim Dong Ho from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This will be succeeded by the session “Founding an Asian Film Festival: A Dialogue with the Heads of BIFF, SIFF, and JAFF,” where speakers Garin Nugroho, Philip Cheah, and Kim Dong Ho will share their insights from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

Among the screening lineup, there will be a romantic-comedy from director Shaun Seneviratne, Ben and Suzanne, a Reunion in 4 Parts, a world premiere of Tumbal Darah from director Charles Gozali, and a Berlin International Film Festival official selection, In the Belly of a Tiger from director Jatla Siddartha.

JAFF Market is ongoing at the Jogja Expo Center and will be open until December 5, 2024.
