A Silent Page

Htoo Lwin Myo (b.1983, Myanmar). His first filmmaking project, On Hteedan Road (2013, 18 minutes), was screened at the 2013 Watthan Film Festival. It was a documentary made by a group of 10 emerging filmmakers from Yangon and Htoo has taken part in the project as a participant filmmaker.

In early 2018, he founded Pink Bear Production and produced education reform-themed short videos as part of the FHI 360 program and Myanmar Knowledge Society. In 2020, he initiated a short film docu-fiction project A Song of Trishaw with the help of artist friends and with financial support from Goethe Institute Yangon. The film was chosen as part of the competition section in the 5th SeaShorts Film Festival 2021. In 2022, he started the short film project, A Silent Page, which is about the life of a young Burmese sans-culottes in a historical revolution setting with financial support from Memory! Cinéma Association. In 2023, he started a documentary feature about the banned and lost analogue folklore + witchcraft films and film stars from the 1960s. Both A Silent Page and the documentary feature were realised with the artistic mentorship of Anne Jämsä of Association WHS ry.
