SYNOPSIS
Blending cold surveillance footage with intimate whispers from an online dating app, Love in the Gaze of a Panopticon surveils the spaces between public and private, physical and digital, the seen and unheard, and lyrically transforms images of machinery cameras into a longing gaze for connection in the artist’s hometown of Hong Kong.

DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY
Arnold Tam
Arnold is a moving-image artist based in Hong Kong & Amsterdam. He navigates between fiction and non-fiction, exploring realities through different media. His works have been selected for IFFR, American Film Institute FEST, Interfilm Berlin, and the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, and he has won the Jury Prize at What the Doc! International Documentary Film Festival. He is also a participant in the Asian Film Awards Academy talent program and Nouvelle Bug residency.
