Dery Prananda
Dery Prananda is a filmmaker based in Yogyakarta whose work has drawn international acclaim. His 2016 short film, Amelis, earned recognition across film festivals in Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, and Argentina, winning Best Film at the ReelOzInd Australia Indonesia Short Film Festival. Another of his films, Tan, was selected for screening at the Tehran International Short Film Festival, the Short Shot Film Festival in Russia, and the Lobo Festival Internacional de Filmes in Brazil.
Dery's style reflects the influence of visionary directors like Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Akira Kurosawa, and Garin Nugroho. In addition to his filmmaking, he shares his expertise by teaching film production in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. In 2017, he completed his Master of Arts at the Postgraduate Program of Institut Seni Indonesia, Surakarta.
