Synopsis
Sinopsis
Precocious tween Karin finds herself abandoned by her father in rural Japan. Living in a temple with her grandfather, she meets Anzu, a giant “ghost cat” and notorious layabout tasked with looking after her. Distrustful of her new guardian, Karin sabotages Anzu’s odd jobs for the townsfolk and befriends the eccentric local forest spirits. To win Karin over, Anzu accidentally deals with the devil, and all Hell breaks loose.

Yôko Kuno & Nobuhiro Yamashita
Born in 1990, Yôko Kuno studied at Tama Art University. Her graduation film, Airy Me, won many awards. She worked as a rotoscoping animation director and is now considered one of the key figures in contemporary animation. She is also a manga creator.
Born in 1976, Nobuhiro Yamashita is a trendy director in Japan. In his early days, he was often compared to Aki Kaurismäki and Jim Jarmusch for his characters of young drifters. Linda Linda Linda, his first 35mm film, was a popular success."
