Synopsis

Sinopsis

Putri, 17 and seven months pregnant, feels suffocated by societal expectations on her wedding day. Overwhelmed by a bleak future, she escapes in her wedding dress and jumps into the back of a catering truck driven by Rizqy, a gay man also trapped in an arranged marriage. Their spontaneous journey is filled with humour, tension, and moments of genuine human connection. Both begin to question the life choices and paths forced upon them. SAH! is a powerful exploration of the collision between tradition and individual freedom, challenging deep-rooted norms about love, identity, and the right to define one’s destiny.

Chandni

Chandni is a filmmaker from Jakarta who grew up in the film industry and understands its limitations. Determined to create works that amplify underrepresented voices, she pursued her education after high school, inspired to address issues like women's rights, toxic patriarchy, and queer life in her films.
Her vibrant use of colour and experimental filming style bring her projects to life. For Chandni, filmmaking serves as a vital tool for voicing truths that are often overlooked while exploring cultures and realities that society may not always acknowledge. With her project SAH!, she aims to spark social change and deepen awareness of identity and individual freedom.
