Synopsis

Jamba Junglai Titis Teramba “humans die leaving advice and teachings” is the motto of the Talang Mamak tribe in Indragiri Hulu, Riau in every tradition. The Talang Mamak tribe is closely related to chickens. Starting from the tradition of birth to the tradition of death, the chicken plays an important role in it. Through the culture of cockfighting in the tradition of traditional wedding ceremonies (Gawai) and the tradition of celebrating death (Naik Tanah), this documentary will explain the meaning of the chicken as the main symbol in the Talang Mamak tribe, which is believed by them as their ancestors did.

Director's Profile

Filda Leri

Filda Leri was born in Riau on August 23, 1999. The Malay woman found her love for documentaries while studying at the Yogyakarta Institute of the Arts, majoring in Film and Television. Even though her parents are not into arts, this woman, who has liked to be called Leri since high school, has actively participated in theatres and film productions. Her interest in cultural issues and people encouraged her to be a short documentary film director. Leri defines documentary as her journey to add a new family and transmit positive energy so that she considers every documentary maker is the happiest person.
