Synopsis
Sinopsis
This is a video diary of the surreal lockdown made by the filmmaker couple trapped in a small, rented apartment in Shanghai. In the face of endless madness, the camera gradually breaks free from the window and observes a vast social isolation unprecedented in the country’s history.

Chen Sisi, Yang Xiao (Badlands Film Group)
Yang Xiao and Chen Sisi founded Badlands Film Group as a doc duo. Their works focus on the activities and memories of marginalized communities, striving to explore the aesthetics of resistance behind them. For example, THE MEMO documents the video activism of migrant laborers during the Shanghai lockdown period, while THE MOUNTAINS SINGS focuses on the tradition of improvised singing by Zhuang people amid ecological changes.
