Subtitling Workshop with Servis Bahasa

In this workshop, we want to introduce subtitling for beginners and share our experience in audiovisual translation in Servis Bahasa. As the demand for international distribution within the film industry has grown even stronger, we hope that subtitling can be seen as an art form, as we want to take into account the deeper context within any film through the dialogue interpretation process. By introducing the basic subtitling techniques and an overview of the professional ecosystem, we want to enable participants to add subtitling to their skillset.

Servis Bahasa:

Servis Bahasa was founded in November 2018 in Yogyakarta. The language service provider was established because of our love and passion for cinema, language and communication. We think a message can transcend beyond words and sentences. It’s also extremely important for us to understand the context of every translation, as a guide in relaying these messages to wider or more specific audiences.
