Synopsis
Sinopsis
SHERINA,the brave little adventurer, now works as a journalist at a major TV network. Her latest assignment sends her deep into the jungles of Kalimantan to cover the release of a pair of orangutans, a mother and its baby, by an orangutan conservation NGO. In Kalimantan, Sherina is reunited with her childhood friend, SADAM, who turns out to be the athletic and charismatic director of the NGO.
When Sadam brings Sherina to meet SAYU, the baby orangutan, Sherina immediately falls in love. After the orangutans are released, trouble ensues as Sayu is kidnapped by a group of criminals sent by a wealthy Jakartan socialite intent on making Sayu her pet. The upright and rule-abiding Sadam and the spontaneous and instinctive Sherina have to work together to rescue Sayu.

Biografi Sutradara
Riri Riza
Riri Riza is a well-known Indonesian screenwriter-director and a partner in Miles Films, Jakarta. He has directed Indonesian box office hits like Laskar Pelangi (2008) and Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2 (2016), along with art-house fares such as Eliana, Eliana (2002), 3 Hari Untuk Selamanya (2007), and Atambua 39°Celsius (2012). Riri’s films have been screened in prestigious film festivals all over the world, such as Berlinale, Tokyo, Busan, Rotterdam, Vancouver and have also received numerous international awards. His feature, Athirah (2016), won six awards in the Indonesian Film Festival 2016, including Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director. Riri is currently a permanent lecturer in Film Directing at the Jakarta Arts Institute and his first drama thriller, Paranoia, was released during the pandemic in 2021.
