SYNOPSIS

The Krowe people from Maumere, Sikka, believe that living human beings are still connected to the spirits of their dead relatives. One of the religious practices is giving food or offerings in a ritual called Tung Piong. Tung Piong is made to honor the ancestors, usually done before big holidays or family events. If one forgets to do Tung Piong, this will anger the ancestors by exhibiting odd signs and sometimes threatening lives. By Christmas, a married couple who had long migrated from Maumere arrived in his native land. The husband was very enthusiastic about telling his childhood to his wife. But there is a strange thing that is felt by his wife. He can imitate the voice and singing of the husband’s grandmother. Arriving home, strange events continued to change until after the Christmas tree caught fire, the wife asked her husband to clean the grave in front of his house
