RAVI BHARWANI

Indonesia

Ravi Bharwani graduated from the Jakarta Institute of the Arts (IKJ) in 1990. After directing several commercials, documentaries, short movies and made-for-TV movies, he made his feature film, The Rainmaker, which premiered in Busan International Film Festival – Asian New Current. It was later selected to the Bangkok, Jakarta, Rotterdam, Barcelona, Shanghai, Vladivostok, Cinemanila international film festival. It won the best film in the Asia new talent award in Shanghai, China. 

Jermal, his second feature, where he worked with two other directors – Rayya Makarim and Utawa Tresno, was selected for screening in Pusan, Rotterdam, Melbourne, Montreal, Vancouver, Edinburgh, Copenhagen and numerous other International film festivals and has received several awards.

His latest feature, 27 Steps of May, was screened in various international festivals and won several awards including the 2018 Jogja-NETPAC award.


Ravi Bharwani lulus dari Institut Seni Jakarta (IKJ) pada tahun 1990. Setelah menyutradarai beberapa iklan, dokumenter, film pendek, dan film yang diperuntukkan bagi tayangan TV, ia membuat film fiturnya, The Rainmaker, yang diputar di Busan International Film Festival – Asian New Current. Kemudian, film tersebut dipilih untuk festival film internasional Cinemanila di Bangkok, Jakarta, Rotterdam, Barcelona, Shanghai, dan Vladivostok. The Rainmakers memenangkan penghargaan best film dalam Asia new talent award di Shanghai, Cina. Jermal, film fitur ke-duanya, dibuat dengan bekerja sama dengan dua sutradara lain – Rayya Makarim dan Utawa Tresno dan dipilih untuk diputar di Pusan, Rotterdam, Melbourne, Montreal, Vancouver, Edinburgh, Copenhagen, dan berbagai festival film internasional, dan memenangkan penghargaan lainnya.

Film terbarunya, 27 Steps of May, diputar di berbagai festival internasional dan memenangkan beberapa penghargaan, salah satunya adalah penghargaan Jogja-NETPAC pada tahun 2018.

Nandita Solomon

Malaysia

 

Nandita Solomon is a Malaysian fiction and documentary film producer and screenwriter. She has produced several award-winning Malaysian fiction and documentary films through Apparat, the independent production company, she co-founded with film director Dain Said. Nandita draws inspiration from Southeast Asia’s rich heritage and histories to craft distinctive stories and unique characters that bridge the local and the global. Apparat’s first fiction feature, ‘Bunohan’ (2011) was Malaysia’s official submission for the Best Foreign Language Oscar 2013, the 2nd film to ever be submitted by Malaysia. Apparat’s films have been invited to screen at Toronto, Rotterdam, London BFI, Jogja Netpac Asian Film Festival, Locarno Piazza Grande, Sitges, Bucheon, Udine and many others. Our films have been picked up by Universal Pictures, HBO, Netflix and Discovery. 

 


 

Nandita Solomon adalah seorang produser dan penulis naskah film fiksi dan dokumenter. Ia telah membuat beberapa film fiksi dan dokumenter bergengsi Malaysia melalui Apparat, sebuah rumah produksi yang didirikannya bersama sutradara Dain Said. Nandita mendapat inspirasi dari kekayaan warisan budaya dan sejarah Asia Tenggara dalam menciptakan kisah-kisah dan karakter-karakter unik yang menjembatani yang lokal dengan yang mendunia. Film fiksi pertama Apparat, ‘Bunohan’ (2011) merupakan perwakilan resmi Malaysia untuk the Best Foreign Language Oscar 2013, film kedua yang dikirim oleh Malaysia. Film-film Apparat pernah diundang untuk ditayangkan di Toronto, Rotterdam, London BFI, Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival, Locarno Piazza Grande, Sitges, Bucheon, Udine dan banyak lagi. Raymond Phathanavirangoon

Thailand

Raymond Phathanavirangoon Executive Director of Southeast Asia Fiction Film Lab (SEAFIC), a pioneering script and development lab for Southeast Asian filmmakers. Previously he was international programmer for Toronto International Film Festival as well as Programme Consultant for Hong Kong International Film Festival and Cannes Critics’ Week. Prior to that, he was Director of Marketing & Special Projects (Acquisitions) for sales agent Fortissimo Films. He acted as Reading Committee Member for Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) and was advisory member of Asian Film Awards. He was festival jury at Berlin, Sarajevo, Seattle, Antalya, Jecheon and others. His producing credits include Pen-ek Ratanaruang’s SAMUI SONG and HEADSHOT, Boo Junfeng’s APPRENTICE, Josh Kim’s HOW TO WIN AT CHECKERS (EVERY TIME), Pang Ho-Cheung’s DREAM HOME, among others. He was named Future Leaders: Producers in 2013 by Screen International and was awarded 2017 Producer of the Year by Asian Film Commission in Busan.

 


 

Raymond Phathanavirangoon adalah Executive Director dari Southeast Asia Fiction Lab (SEAFIC), salah satu pelopor lab naskah dan pengembangan film untuk filmmaker di Asia Tenggara. Sebelumnya ia adalah seorang programmer internasional di Toronto International Film Festival juga sebagai Programme Consultant di Hong Kong International Film Festival dan Cannes Critics’ Week. Sebelum itu, ia adalah Director of Marketing & Special Projects (Acquisitions) untuk sales agent Fortissimo Films.
