DAVID HANAN

Australia

After teaching English and Comparative Literature at Melbourne and Monash Universities, David Hanan took the Postgraduate Diploma in Film Studies at University College London. He then pioneered the Film Studies program at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, from 1978, including in later years, video production. He has researched Indonesian film at Sinematek Indonesia since the early 1980s. In the mid-1980s he became for some years Company Secretary and Southeast Asian Consultant for the Melbourne International Film Festival. He was the editor of Film in South East Asia: Views from the Region (Hanoi: SEAPAVAA and Vietnam Film Institute, 2001). His most recent publication is Cultural Specificity in Indonesian Film: Diversity in Unity (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017). He has subtitled more than a dozen Indonesian films, and distributed DVDs of Indonesian films internationally from a website at Monash University. He is currently an Honorary Fellow in the Asia Institute at the University of Melbourne.


Setelah mengajar Bahasa Inggris dan Sastra Banding di Melbourne dan Monash Universities, David Hanan mengambil gelar pascasarjana di Film Studies di University College London. Beliau kemudian merintis program Film Studies di Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, dari 1978, termasuk di tahun-tahun setelahnya, produksi video. Beliau telah meneliti perfilman Indonesia di Sinematek Indonesia sejak awal tahun 1980-an. WANG FANG

China

As the director of Institute of World Film in Shanghai Normal University, Professor Wang Fang’s main research areas are the history of cinema and the urban ecology of cinema. In addition, she is a member of the China Film Critics Association, programmer of the Shanghai International Film Festival, director of Shanghai Film Critics Association, and holds the Chevalier medal of L’ordre des Arts et desLettres from France.

As the programmer of SIFF (Shanghai International Film Festival) since 2011, She’s been working on film selection and film seminars every year, including the masterclasses by Jean-Michel Frodon (historian and French film critic), Krzysztof Piesiewicz (Polish lawyer and screenwriter of the Three Colors and Dekalog), and Milcho Manchevski (director of Before the Rain and also an artist in New York). In particular, Professor Wang Fang planned the entire section of the 10 Polish films of Dekalog by K.Kieslowski in SIFF2016, as well as the film exhibition of the «70th anniversary of Polish animation» in SIFF2017.


Sebagai seorang direktur dari Institute of World Film di Shanghai Normal University, area utama dari riset Profesor Wang Fang adalah sejarah sinema dan ekologi urban sinema. Selain itu, ia juga merupakan anggota dari China Film Critics Association, programmer di Shanghai International Film Festival, direktur dari Shanghai Film Critics Association, dan memegang medal Chevalier di L’ordre des Arts et desLettres dari Prancis.

Menjadi programmer di SIFF (Shanghai International Film Festival) sejak tahun 2011, ia melakukan seleksi film dan seminar film setiap tahunnya, termasuk masterclass oleh Jean-Michel Frodon (sejarahwan dan kritikus film Prancis), Krzysztof Piesiewicz (pengacara dari Polandia sekaligus screenwriter Three Colors and Dekalog), dan Milcho Manchevski (sutradara Before the Rain dan seniman di New York). Secara khusus Profesor Wang Fang merencanakan seluruh bagian di 10 film Polandia di Dekalog oleh K. Kieslowski di SIFF2016, begitupula dengan pameran film dalam memperingati «Ulang tahun ke-70 dari animasi Polandia» di SIFF2017.
