SYNOPSIS


Aruna and Her Palate is a story about Aruna (Dian Sastrowardoyo) who was having a culinary adventure with her two best friends, Bono (Nicholas Saputra) and Nad (Hannah Al Rashid). On her way, Aruna accidentally meets someone from her past, Farish (Oka Antara). While enjoying a various cuisine, they are involved in a conversation which later reveals a hidden secret.

Aruna dan Lidahnya bercerita tentang Aruna (Dian Sastrowardoyo) yang melakukan petualangan kuliner bersama kedua sahabatnya, Bono (Nicholas Saputra) dan Nad (Hannah Al Rashid). Tak disangka dalam perjalanan Aruna berjumpa dengan seseorang dari masa lalunya, Farish (Oka Antara). Sambil menikmati berbagai masakan nusantara mereka terlibat pembicaraan yang mengungkapkan rahasia terpendam.

In 2005, he wrote and directed the critically acclaimed Kara, the Daughter of A Tree, which became the first Indonesian short film screened at the Director’s Fortnight, Cannes 2005. In 2009 he was a guest at the Berlinale with his short film Trip to The Wound. That same year, his feature film debut Blind Pig Who Wants to Fly received the Fipresci Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Postcards from the Zoo, 2012 is his second feature film for which he also wrote the screenplay. The film celebrated its world premiere at the 62nd Berlinale and was presented in Competition. With Posesif, his third feature, he won a Best Director Award at Festival Film Indonesia 2017. His next films will be Aruna & Her Palate, 2018; and Vengeance is Mine, All Others Pay Cash, in development.

Pada tahun 2005, Edwin menulis dan menyutradarai Kara yang diakui oleh kritikus, the Daughter of A Tree, yang menjadi film pendek Indonesia pertama yang ditayangkan di Director’s Fortnight, Cannes 2005. Pada tahun 2009 ia menjadi tamu di Berlinale dengan film pendeknya Trip to The Wound. Pada tahun yang sama, debut film panjangnya, Blind Pig Who Wants to Fly, menerima Penghargaan Fipresci di International Film Festival Rotterdam. Postcards from the Zoo pada 2012 adalah film keduanya yang juga ia tulis skenarionya. Film ini tayang perdana di Berlinale ke-62 dan dipresentasikan dalam segmen Kompetisi. Dengan  Posesif, film ketiganya, ia memenangkan Penghargaan Sutradara Terbaik di Festival Film Indonesia 2017. Film-film berikutnya adalah Aruna & Her Palate, 2018; dan Vengeance is Mine, All Others Pay Cash, yang sedang dalam tahap pengembangan.
