INDONESIAN PREMIERE OF RM: RIGHT PEOPLE WRONG PLACE AT JAFF19

This documentary feature has its Indonesian Premiere yesterday at JAFF19. The film tells the story of the production process of Kim Namjoon’s second solo album, or also known as RM, the soloist and member of the boy group BTS.

Studio 1 Empire XXI Jogja was filled with mostly BTS fans, the Korean boy group that won the American Music Awards for Favorite Pop Duo or Group. The enthusiasm of the BTS fans surrounded the atmosphere; before entering the studio, they were seen taking photos of their idol’s photocard, RM, in front of the film’s poster. Inside the studio, some of them were getting ready holding BTS lightsticks, ARMY Bomb.

As the film started, the audience cheered excitedly, as if enchanted by the idol’s charm and the beautiful cinematic visuals. When the film ended, all the audience showed their appreciation by sitting down until the end credits were fully finished and clapped enthusiastically. Fans outside the studio were also seen sharing and looking for freebies, free merchandise usually given out by fans.

When interviewed outside the studio, some of them shared their testimonies. “After watching this film, I feel closer to him (RM) because he shares his private life,” said Lili. “He does this for himself, but he also shares it with ARMY.”

“RM shared (his story) through this film that he can be honest with himself. We get to know the other side of Kim Namjoon as RM BTS. Wow, it turns out this person is really amazing. He did well. We’ll always support him,” said Eliza and Geha, audiences of RM: Right People, Wrong Place.

This documentary will be screened again at JAFF19 on Wednesday, 4 December 2024, at 18:15 WIB at Empire XXI Studio 2, and will be available in cinemas across Indonesia starting 5 December 2024.
