IFDC: Desentralisasi Perfilman Indonesia

The current film ecosystem in Indonesia has received a lot of touches from filmmakers from many parts of Indonesia, not just Jakarta. The Jakartocentric perspective has started to be abandoned and moving to seeing Indonesia through a more diverse lens and regional narratives. Filmmakers from various cities in the regions emerge to offer unique stories and narratives that characterize their respective regions. The originality of the work and story is what finally highlights potentials that have never been encountered before. Often, limitations from living outside the capital city actually bring out unusual approaches, and produce very satisfying results. Presenting 3 young directors from 3 different regions, this discussion will contain stories and experiences from these young directors about film productiction outside Jakarta. In addition, they will also tell the very distinctive and very rich local potential that can be presented in audio visual format (film).
