Cinematographer Talk: The Big 4

This program is a collaborative program between JAFF and the Indonesia Cinematographer Society (ICS) as an important part of the Indonesian film ecosystem. As an organization, ICS has carried out a series of activities that focus on developing the competence of cinematographers in Indonesia, providing protection and maintaining the professionalism of members to maintain the quality of art and moving image technology so as to create quality film work. Batara Goempar is one of the ICS members who has won the Best Director of Cinematography award at the 2022 Indonesian Film Festival for his work in “Before, Now and Then”. Moreover, he is also the cinematographer iof “Ali and the Queen of Queens”, “Cadet 1947” and “The Big 4”. In this Talk, Batara Goempar will share his experience as a cinematographer and he will also share the approach he uses in interpreting the meaning of images so that they can tell stories in his version to the audience.
