Synopsis

Sinopsis

BADRUN (55) is entrusted with a bag of laundry clothes while taking shelter at a laundry shop. Badrun checks into the laundry bag and finds a variety of clothes. To warm himself up, he puts on a Hajj clothes with a turban on his head and leaves the laundry shop. The locals who are not familiar with Badrun begin to think he is a wise hajj who travels to various places. Badrun’s wise answers made the villagers start consulting to him. However, the story changes when Badrun wears a police uniform from the bag. Badrun tells the mosque guard that he is ordered by the police general to impersonate a policeman. Badrun starts to carry out his task as a fake policeman. He starts taking bribes and even starts protecting the local thugs. What will happen to Badrun’s journey and the clothes in the laundry bag?

Biografi Sutradara

Garin Nugroho

Garin was born in Yogyakarta on June 6, 1961. He graduated from the Jakarta Institute of Art's Faculty of Film and Television and the University of Indonesia's Faculty of Law. He started his career as a film critic, columnist, documentary and short filmmaker. He is also a pioneer of the first generation of Indonesian film school graduates who were able to be accepted in prominent international film festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, and Venice. His collection of works includes documentaries, music videos, advertisements, public service and political announcements, and performance and fine arts videos.
