SYNOPSIS


Mohammed Yousuf lives in Sydney, Australia. Mohammad Yousuf crossed long roads and seas from Myanmar via Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Indonesia to Australia to escape from the genocide which has been going on for the last 40 years. Through his narration, the audience gets to know the inside story of the journey of Rohingya refugees. In the dire state of geopolitics, diplomacy, death and existence, Mohammad Yousuf turns into the representative of the Rohingya refugees who live abroad; who hopelessly hope for reaching the Neverland called tomorrow because he believes tomorrow never dies

Mohammed Yousuf tinggal di Sydney, Australia. Ia telah melintasi jalan panjang dan lautan dari Myanmar melewati Bangladesh, Malaysia, dan Indonesia menuju Australia untuk melarikan diri dari genosida yang telah berlangsung di Myanmar selama 40 tahun terakhir. Lewat kisahnya, penonton dapat mengetahui cerita dari sudut pandang para pengungsi Rohingya. Di negara yang kacau akibat masalah geopolitik, diplomasi, kematian, dan eksistensi, Mohammad Yousuf menjadi representasi pengungsi Rohingya yang tinggal di luar negeri; berharap dapat mencapai Neverland bernama hari esok yang ia percaya tidak akan pernah mati.

Imran Firdaus

Imran Firdaus is a Filmmaker, Researcher, Visual Artist and Art Organizer based in Sydney/ Dhaka. His video arts exhibited in Norway, Amsterdam and London. He was a research fellow of Bangladesh Film Archive in 2015-2016 and 2007-2008. He was the festival director and organizer of International Inter-University Short Film Festival organized by Dhaka University Film Society 2007 to 2009 and 2015.  He also jointly coordinated an event on the 40 Years of Video Art in Germany: 1963 to 2004 with Goethe Institute, Dhaka in 2008.

Currently he is pursuing PhD in Screen Studies at University of Technology Sydney, Australia.

Imran Firdaus adalah seorang pembuat film, peneliti, seniman seni rupa, dan penyelenggara acara seni yang tinggal di Sydney/Dhaka. Karya seni videonya dipamerkan di Norwegia, Amsterdam, dan London. Ia adalah satu anggota peneliti di Bangladesh Film Archive pada tahun 2015-2016 dan 2007-2008. Ia menjadi sutradara dan penyelenggara International Inter-University Short Film Festival yang diadakan oleh Dhaka University Film Society dari tahun 2007 hingga 2009 dan tahun 2015. Ia juga mengkoordinir acara gabungan 40 Years of Video Art in Germany: 1963 to 2004 dengan Goethe Institute, Dhaka pada tahun 2008.

Saat ini ia sedang mengejar gelar PhD di Kajian Film di University of Technology Sydney, Australia.
