SYNOPSIS

This film narrates the story of three women in three different regions of Indonesia in redefining their destiny. Sutringah is the wife of a palm sugar tapper from Banyumas. Her life continues to dwindle by economic difficulties and heightened as her husband is paralyzed due to an accident when tapping. Yati, a woman with a disability, worked all her life for her family’s business in lurik artisans in Klaten, Central Java. Yati then redefines her destiny when her idealism is conflicted with her father. Maria, a widow from the village of Kefa in East Nusa Tenggara along with other widows, redefine their destiny as women in preserving the weaving tradition, even when the local customs are not in their favor.

Harvan Agustriansyah

Harvan Agustriansyah, was born in Jakarta Indonesia in 1980. He studied at the Jakarta Institute of Arts, majoring in directing. After graduating Harvan worked as an Assistant Director in various feature length film productions. As a director he has produced, written and directed several short films that have led him to participate in various national and international film festivals.
